It's very good! Try it! I put the roast in the crockpot with a pkg. of dry onion soup and a little water. You can add cream of mushroom to that too, and it's very yummy! Good luck!

My husband only uses a Crock Pot and when he cooks, he will put a can of Campbell's Mushroom Soup over his Pot Roast. It is soooo delicious, but a little bit thick! To thin out the soup, I would recommend adding 1/2 to 1 cup of milk and mix it with one can of Mushroom soup so it will not be so lumpy. It would come out being like a very smooth sauce on your chuck roast.

p.s. If you try this, please let me know how you liked it.

Yes I have it makes a great gray for the roast, I also use it with pork chops, fry the chops till golden brown the darker the chops the darker and more flavorful the gravy. Pour mushroom soup over chops stir the flavor bits on the bottom of the pan. Let simmer for a couple of minutes, or put in a baking dish in the over for a bit to make moist. use mushroom gravy with mashed potatoes. Oh it taste very good now I'm hungry. check out www.allrecipes.com there are some great recipes there.

I cook with C of M soup all the time. Your roast will turn out well. I would add a package of onion soup mix to the cream of mushroom soup and spread the mixture all over the roast. It will be yummy!

Sounds like a great idea to me. I have a dish that I make. It is a little unconventional. I make stuffing, and instead of water I use cream of mushroom soup. I add more mushrooms and corn. Make some chicken and throw that in there as well. It is a one dish meal. You can check out Campbell's website for more ideas too. Good luck.

It'll probably be delicious. Maybe you could throw in some sliced onion, sliced green pepper, and some slivers of garlic to keep it from being too bland. I use mushroom soup when I'm kind of out of ideas about what to make. I brown some pork shops, throw in some onion and garlic, add the undiluted soup, cover and put it in a 400 degree oven for about a half hour. Very good with mashed potatoes (could be instant) or egg noodles. Fix some kind of green vegetable on the side for color. As my husband once reminded me, even Babe Ruth didn't hit a homerun every at-bat!

Sure, it will come out real tender. For a little different taste, try the Campbell's cream of mushroom soup with roasted garlic already added in it.

I haven't used it for that, but have for different casserole dishes.
1 (3 1/2 lb.) boneless chuck roast
1 pkg. onion soup mix
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking dish with a sheet of aluminum foil large enough to wrap around entire roast. Place roast on foil. Sprinkle onion soup mix on top of roast and spoon cream of mushroom soup on top. Wrap the foil tightly around roast to prevent steam from escaping. Bake for 2 1/2 hours. This dish makes its own gravy.

I have baked pork chops in the oven with a can of cream of mushroom soup and a can of water. Also Green Bean casserole uses a can of mushroom soup and a can of milk. Very good. It makes a nice gravy too.
