1.Light in the Moon is merely a Reflection

It is known that the sun is a star that generates intense heat and light by its internal combustion, and that the moon which does not give off light itself, merely reflects the light received from the sun.

The Quran testifies the above fact: “Blessed is the One Who placed the constellations in heaven and placed in it a lamp (SIRAJ) and a moon, giving light (MUNIIRA)”. (25:61)

Here the moon is defined as a body that gives reflection of light (Muniira), while the sun is compared to a blazing lamp or torch (Siraj).

He it is Who made the sun radiate a brilliant light and the moon reflect a lustre, and ordained for it proper stages, that you might know the count of years and the reckoning of time. Allah has not created this system but in accordance with the requirements of truth. He details the signs for a people who possess knowledge.

2.High Altitude

It is infact a highly common place reflection on the discomfort experienced at high altitude, which increases the higher one climbs, that is expressed in the Quran verse 125, sura 6:

“Those whom God wills to guide, He opens their breast to Islam. While those whom He wills to let straying, He makes their breath closed and constricted, as if they had to climb up the skies”.

Who informed the Prophet that by climbing up in the skies, the pressure increases and breathing becomes difficult?

3.Honey Bees

Concerning bees, the Quran says: “Your Lord inspired the (female) bee, choose your dwelling in the hills, in the trees and in what (man) build. Eat of all fruit and follow the ways of your Lord in humility. From within their bodies comes a liquid of different colours where is cure for men”. (16:68-69)

Quran refers that the worker-bees who are searching for food are females. The verbs used in Arabic refer to female bees. This is very amazing. For all along, until only recently, people imagined that the “soldier-bees” were males.

Yes, I believe God to be the ultimate beginning of science and evolution. Makes perfect sense to me!
:) The Bible has it's heavenly proof as well...alot of it is metaphoric...ie created heaven and earth in 7 days...most of us modern Christians can figure out that the timeline must scientifically be a metaphor. There are many stories of truth in all religions, pretty much. Too bad we can't get the fanatics in all religions to see the universal truths most all religions share! Peace be with You, A Christian American...I also study the Sumerians, the Chinese, the Kabbalah, the Quran, Hindu, the Mayans, the Aztecs, the Olmecs, and more...to see what the World is saying about different ways to worship The God of All of Us.
:)

Let us look at the bee question. Why is the word "female" in brackets? That is because it was not in the original version and 3rd Caliph Uthman and his committee (many years after Muhammad's death) ADDED it!

Another thing, when did mankind realize that it was the female bee that gathers the pollen? You have not proved a cite to support you apparent claim that during Muhammad's time it was unknown about the sex of the bee.

Now let us look at the arab society back when Caliph Uthman was writing his version of the Quran. What was the role of women then? Wasn't their role more along the line of worker bees then the role of men during his time?

So was Caliph Uthman's addition to the Quran due to the arabic treatment of women and not one of science?

As for the moon points. Granted that Muhammad was born and raised a pagan with roots in moon worshipping. I am sure that Muhammad and especially Caliph Uthman spent many nights looking at the moon and its reflective qualities.

As for increased difficulties in breathing when climbing mountains, please remember that Muhammad was a cave dweller (hiding from his wives?) and that there are many mountains in that part of Arabia. Common knowledge is not a revelation!
