Ok, I'm wanting to start playing the guitar. I'm going to go out and by a starter acoustic guitar sometime later. How much should I expct to spend? If you have any tips or reccomendations, please tell.

$200 for an ok one.... check out fender's acoustic line...

well esteban sells a very nicely made one on tv for like 200 bucks with lessons, amp (it has a pick up but is acoustic) and all the gear, case, extra strings, every thing. any other guitar you can by for that kind of money is not worth hauling home. other than that one, spend 500 on a new one at the very least. you can do better used, of course, pawn shops and the like. that is probably the best route, pawn shops, yard sales and especially estate sales. don't buy junk you wont be happy with it and will give up before you really get started.

You should not have to pay more than $100 for a starter. If it becomes a hobby, then there are several decent guitars available under $500, but as an initial investment, it wouldn't be wise to spend a lot of money. You may decide it's not your "thing."

I would hit Pawn shops and flea markets. I picked mine up for $20 at a flea market about 6 months ago.
