Male cats leave there feces uncovered for a number of reasons. The main one would be besically like him saying he is the lead or top cat. Do you have other cats? That would be the reason, or maybe he can't stand the smell of the litter...if he were to swoosh the litter around the smell could be pretty intense for a cat. Try a different litter. You didn't say if he was fixed? If he was then he shouldn't be dominating or marking. If he's not fixed you should think about doing so because he will start marking other things in your house besides the litter and scratching the carpet...Good luck

Try this make sure the litter isn't to thick in the litter box she may be afraid of touching some old urine or feces, cats are very clean animals and since she's cleaning the outside of the box that means she want to do the right thing, Clean the litter box put in fresh litter and make sure it's not to deep that should do it. If it doesn't try a different brand of litter, she'll be fine it just takes patience and testing good luck

Add more litter, and give your cat a bigger box. Put newspaper under the box. The bigger the cat, the bigger the box.

the undeniable fact that she's hiding away and keeping up her paws is information that she's in loads of discomfort and that i think of you should work out a vet as quickly as you could, yet as somebody else has pronounced, please see a vet that cares sufficient approximately cats to surely refuse to declaw them, please do no longer re-bypass to whoever has ruined your cats ft with the aid of fact, to be blunt, he/she could make a extreme issue ten situations worse and your cat ought to lose a paw or lose her life with the aid of an infection. sure she is depressed, who does no longer be after having hands/feet amputated and being in consistent discomfort? i do no longer understand why she isn't protecting her poo, you're fortunate she's nonetheless using the litterbox as many declawed cats do no longer! yet i does no longer be dragging her paws interior the process the sand whilst they are sore and hurting, provide the little soul a spoil and help her through cleansing the stinky poo away as rapidly as obtainable and retaining the litterbox sparkling for her. it somewhat is totally unhappy that maximum of people settle for the amputation of their cats feet as commonly used and recurring as neutering while, in reality, this extreme and extremely painful and worrying surgical technique ought to be used as an absolute final motel which might make it an extremely very infrequently performed technique. It should not be used only in case a cat scratches you by possibility, or your furnishings nor instead to coaching toddlers and youngsters to admire and be careful of and common with animals, yet as long as everybody is keen to pay huge money there are unscrupulous vets who in no way difficulty to describe only what's in touch and what the risks of after effects are, the two bodily and mentally. Declawing is often and in basic terms for the earnings of the owner...in no way the cat. i desire you will get some alleviation from discomfort on your cat and that i desire your older cat does not start to go through joints pains and so on as he gets older as with the aid of having to stroll on toeless paws. Please help us now to show different cat vendors and take a verify out and give up different cats suffering comparable to your Lilly is.

It is probably because the litter box is either not deep enough or not large enough area-wise.
