The 2 are probably unrelated. Bruising has to do with your clotting factors, and unless you have lost massive amounts of weight and have an eating disorder, chances are the bruising has nothing to do with your weight loss.

People who take medications for diseases, including blood thinners like aspirin, also have an increased risk of bruising.
You can also help prevent bruising by boosting your intake of vitamin C. Bruises occur more frequently in people who don't get enough vitamin C.

SEE A DOCTOR---it could be leukemia--get a blood count. Go today! It could also be a vitamin c deficiency or other nutrients that are involved with clotting, but the weight loss may indicate greater issues.

I knew someone who had diabeities (sp?) who had bruises all over her legs. This might also be the cause for the unexplained weight loss.
I would consult a professional. Good luck.

Make sure you get to a doctor QUICK. I had the same thing and I was diagnosed with thrombotic thrombocytopenia and I was in the ICU for about 4 days because my kidneys were shutting down. GET TO THE DOCTOR!

you should talk to your doctor about this. my guess is that you are lacking some essential nutrients in your diet (not intentionally, though) and you are bruising more easily than before.

yeah, that could be something serious. Not to cause a panic or anything, but isn't that common in folks with AIDS? Seriously, go see a doctor.
