My cat is 13 years old(he'll be fourteen this summer). He is drooling quite often lately.What should I do?

Hi Myaloo...because your cat has begun to drool this may be indicative of something more serious. Cats who suddenly develop drooling may be a result of either periodontal, kidney, respiratory or liver disease to diabetes, skin disease (involving tissue around the lips) or oral trauma, such as electric cord injury. Please consider having your cat medically evaluated as some diseases such as kidney failure can be managed if caught early enough. Kidney failure or better known as chronic renal failure (CRF) is common among aging cats and is one of the leading causes of feline deaths.

When I was little, I had a cat that did that. It wasn't a big deal.
We took it to the vet a time or two for other things, but the vet never said anything about that being bad.
It drooled when it was really happy, like a step up from purring.

I had an adult cat who used to do that when he was purring and content. I don't think it is anything to worry about but if you notice any other unusual symptoms you might take him for a trip to the vet.

You should probably go to your vet. It may be something considering his teeth.
