Is it normal for a boy about to turn 3 to tell his mommy,"i want boobies" and to "take your shirt off". He then rubs them and always says "my boobies"... I don't belive she breat feeds him, but then again I am not around my girlfriend that much to see If she does or not. But I have seen that which I have mentioned. What I found troubleing is that he throws a tantrum if she won't take her shirt off, and let him rub her boobs. So what's you're verdict? Am I crazy to think that this behavior from a soon to be 3 year old boy is not healthly? I brought this to her attention, and she just about flipped out and cried that I asked this on yahoo answers. She replied saying, it is her body and her choise. She also said that he would grow out of it, just as he will not poo his pants forever. I agree with her however she give's in to his trantrums, and I seen that she likes it when he groaps her. You may also get a more in depth detail from my piror questions history full the full scoop.

yes that is unusual for him to want to rub her boobies. breastfeeding is very natural and some people take it into late toddler hood which is normal. but its not natural for him to want to rub it and command his mother to take her shirt off. she should tell him no. if this is your girlfriend wouldn't u have asked her if she breastfeeds still.

It's normal and very healthy for a 3 year-old to nurse. The toddler still gets healthy fat for brain development and immune factors from the breast milk. The mom could work with him on setting limits about when and where to nurse, but you may be in her home or some other place where the little one is allowed to nurse. The advice from pediatricians was at least a year, and then as long as the mother and child mutually want to.

My perception is the child is not nursing and yes, exhibits the behavior about owning the breasts. After all they were a source of comfort to him.

If the child still wants to "own" the breasts, then mom has to set a boundary, like cuddle time at bedtime or nap time.

Wow! I am a firm beliver in nursing untill your child is ready to let go. But this is out there. That he plays with them NO she should not not not not are you listening not let him feel her up. I worked for Child Protective Services for 6 years and this behavior would not be acceptable. I also as a mother had a stuborn nurser. He nursed untill he was just over 2 years old. To get him off I had to go away for the weekend with my mom and he stayed with his Dad. Then when I returned home we had a new bed time routine.

Oh dear. Unfortunately it isn't an easy answer, as it seems she is just as dependent on nursing as her son is. Does he need it physically? No way. This may be her way of holding onto his infancy but it is definitely not normal behaviour for either mom or son. She will have to take measures to find a way to be close to him w/out nursing him but you can't get on her case about it - she evidently feels very strongly.

i personally think by the time a child can sit up and eat for his or herself that the parent should stop breastfeeding. It is just like pediatricians dont recommend giving a bottle past age one.

No offense but sounds creepy to me. I don't think this is a breast feeding question, because he would not "grope" her he would want to suck. I would ask more questions to her not us! sorry i was no help!
