ok if you say drop it. and she doesnt. make her sit. then offer her a treat and then she will take the treat in the process drop the frisbee or ball or whatever. then praise her. then next time do the same thing and she will over time learn to drop the frisbee or ball. then you can lean her off the treats. that is what i did to my dog

I have a lab puppy. When he gets a stick or big rock or whatever, he usually wants to bring it into the house with him. I tell him "Drop it". If he doesn't, I go to open up the door, but stop in the middle of doing it. I repeat the command. If he drops it, he gets to go inside and gets a treat.
I would probably recommend you taking treats out with you when you're training this command. At first, give treats every time your dog does what you ask. Then you sort of have to "wean" them off of the treats so that they don't expect them every time.

Mine used to do this..
Here is what works for me.
grab the dogs muzzle from the top, place your fingers down on top of the skin that is covering the teeth. Squeeze the skin into the teeth enough to get her to drop it. Then all praise and a treat.
Keep doing that repeatedly. You don't have to do it really hard.
Now when I put my hand out in that position like I'm going to do it. My guy drops the ball before I reach him.

We taught our dog to "give" by initially using a food lure. She would have the item, we would hold the treat to her, instruct the word "give" (or "release" whatever word you wish to use) each time, and she'd drop the item to get the treat. Eventually, we weaned out the treat reward for "give" and she now does it every time. Just takes a little time, patience and training to get them in the right direction.

My dog did the same thing. I eventually just waited until he dropped it, then I would go over and try to grab it, and he would block my hand. It has turned into something else altogether. Remember to just have fun.

You need to trade a GOOD treat for what you want her to give to you, do this EVERY time you play with her for a few months then you can eventually wean off the treat and your dog will give.
