Since I'm a bit older than you I don't quite understand your jargon....but I believe I get the gist. I bought a Sony Nov 1st and really enjoy taking pictures with it. EVERYDAY! I shot about 450 pictures since Nov 1.
So you're not obsessed. AND it could be a learning process for you. No doubt you enjoy what you're doing. Learn as much about your camera as you can. If it obsession, you have alot of people out there in the same category.

There's nothing wrong with being in love over a camera. I've had a digital camera for over a year now and I take pictures everyday. Taking pics mean lasting memories, and for that, it's ok to be obsessed! :-)

I think you are just loving your new gift. People often get new toys and they use them quite a bit in the beginning. If you really, really love taking photos, maybe this can be a hobby for you. My daughter has her own camera now, and she takes soooo many photos. I think its a worthwhile distraction for her and you. And just think of the memories you will have saved for later.
