What? You need to buy and read the Atkins book. So do the previous posters.

NOWHERE in the Atkins book does it say to completely eliminate carbs. NOWHERE in the Atkins book does it say to not eat vegetables.

The first phase of the diet is Induction, which lasts two weeks, and you are SUPPOSED to eat two cups of salad veggies/one cup of cooked veggies per day IN THE FIRST, most carb-restricting, phase of the diet.

I have been on Atkins since June and I eat at least one big salad a day.

Stay away from the following things:
Bread
Pasta
SUGAR.
Potatoes
Anything processed or refined like flour

You can eat meat, GREEN veggies, tomatoes (in moderation), broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, butter, oil, sour cream..

This diet is not that extreme.
It's all whole, healthy, natural foods.

Please do not bash what you clearly do not know.

A list is really not important if you know the guidelines. If you are in the introductory phase you are Carb. free which means you are eating only proteins and fats. When you're at the grocery store you will want to focus on pretty much the meats. Look at the label and make sure there isn't any carbs. in the product. Remember that any meats you get will only be flavored with herbs not sauces so choose something you can get down. My saving grace was that mayo. has no carbs. so if I had a dry piece of meat I would just dip it in mayo. Round logs of breakfast sausage are really nice because they are flavored in themselves, some however have carbs. so be careful. I don't remember at what point you are allowed salad, but the salad dressings will kill you. Best to use the trusty mayo again, or just oil and vinegar. Most cheese is fine to use on your salad but stay away from any starchy veggie like peas. Keep it leafy for your best bet. I used to make up a big bowl of leafy greens and fry up some crispy chicken pieces or steak slices and mix them in with oil and vinegar, and top off with Cheddar cheese. It's awesome and right on. So again in brief, stick to meats in the beginning with only leafy greens, or cheese, and oil, vinegar, and mayo.

You can eat meat, chicken, fish no veggies,no bread,no crackers you can also eat cheese I tried it but it was a little hard on me until I found bee pollen that you can also use along with the above choices. It super high protein content but also has vitamins. There is a lot of info on this website called.....http://www.beeroyalproducts.com that's where I get mine and I have been really happy...

Here you go. I did Atkins for almost 2 years, that had to stop. You do loose weight while you are on it, but it is tough to stay on it forever. Hope this helps

you can eat everything high in fat but STAY AWAY from tomatoes, potoaoes, bread, pasta, milk cheese and butter. usually a morning breakfast is a fried egg,2 bacon and 1 toast. its all a high fat diet.
