Does anyone know what to do about the remote sensor on the TV that no longer works?

The remotes are fine, the controls on the tv are fine...the little senor eye does not work anymore.

Call a TV repair guy and ask him the same question.
Chances are he has heard it before and knows the answer.
It might be costly to fix since this is how he makes his living.
Did you or do you smell something burn in your TV ?
I think it must be your remote, since it takes all kinds of abuse.
The TV just sits there.
