Its a 2005 (carfax shows it was bought in 2004) kia optima lx sedan and it has 34,157 miles on it and it still has 5 years or 50,000 miles warranty on it, and it is 9,995. The outside is in perfect condition and the inside is not that bad. Am i getting ripped off or does this sound like a good deal?

The 5 years you got left in warranty is not a full warranty its called a power train warranty, and 99% of the time it does not come into play unless your engine blows.
As for you getting ripped off take 15 minutes out off your life to save mega bucks http://www.usedcartips.org/ and study my 10 steps.

It's a so-so deal if the interior is in "not that bad" condition. If they're asking $9,995, I'd knock about $1,500 off of that for my fist offer and probably pay no more than $9,200 or so.

I wouldn't say that you're being "ripped off" but they're not doing you any favors at that price either.

As always, spend the $100 or so to have it inspected by an independent mechanic. Cheap insurance!

Its a kia, one of the cheapest made cars on the road! For a few more thousand dollars a new car would be a much better investment! And the only problems with a brand new car are keeping the oil change and buying gas! You wont have to worry so much, about the inside/outside appearance!

Did you buy the car fax report? It provides detailed information buy providing the VIN #. It sounds good but KIA has a reputation of having diagnostic problems after the warranty ends, but that's the risk everyone takes buying a used car. Check with Kelly Blue Book on-line for the sales price of the vehicle. It also depends on if you're buying it from a dealership or from a personal seller. But I strongly recommend that you check on-line first with www.kbb.com. Hope this helps!

considering that Kia has a 10/100,000 warranty it sounds ok but you need to find out if the warranty is transferrable, and check out the prices on new Kia's, to compare with what you are getting. 34k on a year old car is an awful lot of miles considering that the average is around 12-18000 per year +/- . check out actual warranty start date to find out more. I think the Optima starts out at around 10k new and you're trying to buy used for the same price??? best check around for better offers..

Yeah that's pretty good but when trying to buy a car always try to make them go lower on the price.

You can go to kbb.com (Kelly blue book) and it will give you estaimates for resale and retail prices. I use it whenever I buy a used car. Using crfax was also a good idea.
