I have a daughter she is 16 yrs of age now she was born with an impairment called hemaparalasyis which affects the left side of her body shes not impaired to the extreme to where she is in a wheelchair or anything like that she is a beautiful young girl and it has affected her her whole life kids making fun of her throughout school mostly in the middle school the doctors had told me when she was first born that she would never be able to walk we proved them wrong in alot of different ways. We live in a very small town a town to where the doctors that we have are doctors that have graduated at the bootom of the list so that is what we are dealing with with todays technologies I know that there has to be something some kind of technology that can help her could any one please please please help us so that my daughter can start living a normal life PLEASE I BEG YOU if there is anyone out there PLEASE, Please take the time out and let us know Sincerely a Mom that CARES

I'm not a doctor but I think you might probably have been told your daughter has what we call in the UK a hemiparesis, a one sided weakness of the body in muscles under voluntary control. In the USA it might have a slightly different name. If you could clarify the diagnosis you would be able to find an online support group probably within your geographic region (USA?) Just be careful about giving out too much detail to complete strangers before you know if you can trust them.

I don't have information off the top of my head, but I'd be happy to help with some research (I'm in the health field and have access to hundreds of medical journals).

Don't know how contacting works on this yahoo answers though, I've only been on a few days...
