Magic Erasers are a godsend. Just don't use them on your kids skin....LOL. (long story) I have gotten just about everything off with these. =)

You can try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. However, the problem is that the marker was soaked up into the wood--wood is very porous. You may just have to sand it down and refinish it. Sorry!

a citrus cleaner called "us advantage" 1oz to 20oz of water.
or you can go to walmart or any store and in the laundry isle pick up some borax. That's what it is called
put a little on a plate, add some hot water to make it kind of pasty then slice a lemon and dip it in the paste of borax and use the lemon w/ paste and scrub the wall.
either should take it right off. Once the perm. marker is off the wall put a tiny bit of baby oil on the wood to restore it to it's original state.

Just a wild guess. Try easy off oven cleaner. Just try a small amount on a hidden area first to make certain its not gonna do any damage or make things worse.
I had a situation with a mark on the plastic trim of my car. It took it out when nothing else would.

Try the Magic Clean Eraser thing.... that might work, or I would use Greased Lightening, that works on everything..
Good luck!

I marked my coffee table by accident with a sharpie... my husband used varsol or something like that to take it up... but i'm guessing with all these responses that magic eraser thing might be worth picking up hehe
