Don't know what you are using ,but you should be using wax not gel ....something like Dax..They have other brands in Solon's that are great

Try a pomade first, and then once you have all your hair in the proper place, use a high hold hairspray. Yeah I know it sounds girly but, it will make it easier in the long run. Then if you have a hair dryer(possibly a gf's) use the low level and dry your hair. Viola, now it is all spiked!

The absolute best product to use is called Spiking Glue from FX Special Effects. You can get it at any Walgreens. Its the best!

After a shower or get your hair wet ..blow dry your hair upside down. When your hair is dry add some gel and spike.
