Do not fret is the theme of this psalm. 37 Is a wisdom psalm written as an acrostic. Its simple message is to maintain patience in the midst of troubles. God's people can have such patience because they know that their eternal reward will abundantly surpass any temporary troubles.
When wicked see to prosper, the psalmist calls for patience, a renewed sense of dependence on the Lord, and a new sense of pleasure of knowing Him.
I have read my Bible for many years, but I walked away from my childhood faith. When I read my Bible now, it really talks to me differently after I invited Holy Spirit in my heart. My spirit is strong but my flesh is week. When I dwell in His Word, I feel the delight. It really is like a new understanding. And I am aware of my limits of knowing...but I rely on His understanding and I trust that when I look the big picture...His providence is kind and generous. That makes it easier to pray His will be done. He knows my needs and He knows all the options. I am just thankful that He takes care of me. : )

If you delight in the Lord, your perspectives and desires change to those of the Lord's. You will become more focused on being a servant to humanity and putting aside the selfish desires of the flesh. Not an easy thing to do but there have been many fine examples. Mother Teresa comes immediately to mind.

Well, if you are delighting yourself in the Lord, then you will desire the right things. If you are desiring what the Lord wants you to desire, then you will get it. Delighting yourself in the Lord will cause you to want godly things, and God will fulfill them in different ways, most probably different than you expect, but still just as wonderful.

The scripture is saying that by taking delight in God (living your life according to his commandments), God will bless you.
Take, for example King Solomon. When he was installed as king in Israel, God asked him to name one thing he wanted and it would be given him. Solomon asked for wisdom, in order to effectively rule over Israel. God was so impressed with this selfless attitude that he said what is recorded at 1 Kings 3:10 - 14. Look that one up (too long to type...). We can have (in a limited way) the same experience.

He creates the desires within our hearts for the things of God if we delight in him.

if you wana delight GOD in real sence then dont follow these human addited bibles for thier own greedy needs. You should follow real bible which is in Hebrew language. If you can read it then you can get its translation. How you can believe that son of God, jesus can be killed by his own created human. God can not be weak. GOD's son should have all attributes of GOD like unlimited powers. If you read real bible you will get real delight of your heart. They made us blind and bolcked our way from truth and still we are. We are just following human editted bible. No its wrong how we can love jesus without knowing GOD. Jesus was human and he is still alive in heaven and he will come back in this earth to get his kingdom back. If dont believe in these eddited bibles it doesnot make you non christian. You should believe in real bible,, which is amazing and tells every thing about Jesus and GOD. God know us more better than us as he created us and Jesus. There is just one Jesus, one bible and one GOD

The most important thing would be that we should want a closer relation with Jesus himself. That should be our top desire!
