I don't have dogs but I do change my voice for my 2 cats. I use a baby voice when I M happy/proud of them and I use a stronger voice to show that I want them to stop doing something.

When thinking about this it actually depends on what I'm doing. If I'm trying to train my dog or get her to listen to me I use my normal voice but stern. If she's in trouble then I use my normal voice but extra stern. However, if i'm playing with her and messing around I use a high pitch voice. If i'm just talking to her i use my normal voice. I don't really use a baby voice.

kind-of, but only some times because after I realized it my dogs like my voice regular and not all changed, When I read to them I read in my regular voice and they seem to like it more than a different voice because they both get all relaxed and fall asleep,. the only time is if I'm playing around with them or if I'm mad at them.Somtimes my one dog will look at me like I'm an idiot LOL.

Sometimes, it depends on the activity. After a grooming, I talk in a baby voice telling her how pretty she is, but usually I use my regular tone of voice.

Yes. The big one when I'm being really affectionate or praising him a lot, he gets really excited. Oddly his pet (no pun intended) name at such time is "Jack Monster" - his name is Jack. The little one I talk to a lot in funny voices, he listens better for some reason. Be it praise or correction, but otherwise he seems to think I'm talking to the other one.

I also pick him up and sing him little songs and lullubies.

They never have to learn how to talk, so I think its the only creatures to talk to like that.

Definately, they get excited. But not when I am punishing or being serious.
When I am loving them I notice my voice changes. Just like when I used to baby talk to my daughter.

I have a 5 month old Bichonpoo she IS my baby so I often use a baby voice and talk baby talk to her. I think she likes it she gets all excited. Other people who are not animal lovers think I am nuts but who cares.

Yes all the time. She enjoys it. If I talk regular to her, she completely ignores me. So basically.... when I want her to do something I use the "baby voice"

Of course I do. I don't know anybody who talks to their dog like they were in a business meeting together. The weird thing is the dogs baby-talk back!
