just part of life's process, everything old withers away, as our body gets older it wears out the parts that are vital to support us, some times we help the process with bad habits and other times , parts just wear out.

Maybe the reason is metaphysical. Throughout our existence, we have likened our bodies to other living organisms which whither away and die after a period of time. So we have created a thoughtform in our collective psyche which goes along the lines of " old age equals decline and decay. "

Human thinking has perpetuated this thinking from generation to generation, and is aided now by things like popular media and advertising, which equate youth with beauty and energy, and old age with vulnerability, lack of energy and illness.

Negative thinking like this gets stronger and stronger as the years roll by. The stress and bad feelings these thoughtforms create, attack the body at cellular level, and that (combined with a lifetime of bad diet and substance abuse) is what could create the decline effect of the ageing process.

But it doesn't have to be this way. In general terms, positive people are often more healthy and radiant than negative people. If we changed the thoughtforms to equate old age with a continuation of beauty and vitality, we would probably produce different metaphysical results in our bodies. This wouldn't be seen straight away, but effects would run through within a couple of generations.

A mate of mine is 40, but keeps himself fit and active and keeps his mind alive. He says he feels in better shape now than he ever did when he was a 20-something. I can think of another guy (an habitual positive thinker) who is now 60 but reckons he has even more energy than when he was 18 (and now he can also add the accrued wisdom of his later years).

Old age really doesn't have to mean sickness and being over the hill. We can be positive, healthy and vital at any time of our lives. It's a cliche but age really is nothing more than a mindset.
