I had my first kiss last night, and it was so unbelievably unenjoyable. Honestly, I didn't know any physical sensation could be so...detestable. It was slobbery, and he opened his mouth too much, and I found myself thinking about other things while he was kissing me.
Is kissing really just overrated, so I was expecting too much out of it, or should it actually be enjoyable, and I just got stuck with someone who has no lip coordination?

My heart was in it until I realized how bad it was. Is there anything I can do to make it better?

Annie, why would I think what I did was wrong?
I'm 16, I really like him and he likes me, and I made sure to put it off until I felt comfortable. There's nothing "wrong" about kissing someone you care for.

It has nothing to do with lip coordination (ok well not that much). It's about the emotional bond between the two of you. If there is one, you wouldn't find it gross at all. If you don't have one, you shouldn't be kissing him in the first place.
Anniee's answer is spot on. Don't be so harsh on the guy, and think about why you wanted the kiss to begin with. Oh and why are most of the girls so harsh on him?! Were they great kissers the first time they kissed? I doubt it! Hypocrites! Everyone has a first time, and everyone sucks on the first time! Learn some tolerance!
Oh, and if your heart was TRULY in it, you would not think of the kiss as "bad". I think you are being a little immature here. You should appreciate that kissing is an act of love, not an endurance feat. Step back and learn to love first. If you can't love him, move on.

Was it the only reason you wanted to kiss him because you wanted your first kiss? If you truly loved the guy you wouldn't care how the kiss was. Even if it was a bad kiss and you loved the guy it would turn out good. If you didn't really like him and just wanted your first kiss then thats a different story. Not every first kiss is bad. It could've been his first kiss too. He could've not known what to do. Cut that guy some slack. Who cares if your first kiss wasn't great? You'll have more better kisses. Also haven't you thought what you did could've been wrong?

You poor girl! He is aweful at kissing!!! Don't let one bad encounter ruin your fantasy of what to expect when it ocmes to someone giving you a wonderful kiss. There is such a thing! Trust me. You will know. I'm not even going to try and defend him by saying it was nerves on his part, it sounds like he just doesn't know what he is doing. Good Luck on your next venture.

I think that kissing is slightly overrated, but at the same time, it should not be detestable. When I had my first kiss, the guy almost drowned me with all his saliva. I think you were unlucky, but don't worry, not all guys attempt to wash your face with their spit.

kissing is very enjoyable... either your heart wasnt in it or he just doesnt know what the hell he's doing.
you shouldnt kiss, just for the sake of kissing... because then it does kinda suck.
