Who buys the food at your house? I'm assuming it's you. Don't buy anything you don't want your son to eat.

What do you consider junk food ? Age of Child ? Around 5 years I would take peaches and put raisin eyes on them and mouth and put on top of your so called good food. Make food fun for them and you will get less resistance. Try using your imagination to make food fun. And keep all junk food out of sight. Hot dogs are not junk food to a child. Also childern will not eat so much healthy adult foods as one might think. But you can train them by using better habits yourself as they get older. Don't eat the junk food in front of them if its in the house. Also you might use a small portion of junk food as a desert if they eat what is good for them. A better answer could have been given if childs age was known.

Take all the junk food out of your house, if he crys its not going to kill him. it bugs you more then anything and then you give in to get him to shut up not only does that not incourage good eating but it gives him a false sence of power and that in all cases if he/she yells enough that they get what they want. with my children a snack is something that tides them over until there next meal/ i.e apple or half of PBJ or some a glass of milk i try to teach my children that junk food is not something to eat when your hungry for just as an every now and then treat. they still beg for it i say no and its over

First off, hollering doesn't help anything. Second, a child follows by example... in most cases a child will want what you eat. Cut him/her an apple, eat it together.

The best thing i found to help with my son is give him alternatives but only healthy items that you want him to eat. For example if you want him to eat more fruits then you choose a variety of fruits you want him to eat. From your selection have him choose the ones he likes. This way you both win. You chose the things you wanted him to eat and he then chose from those thing items that he wants to eat.
