You should call around to different vets to get an idea cost of how much vaccinations plus a visit run in your area. I know that prices may vary depending where you live and what the service is. I know when I call my vet for service over the phone about pricing vaccinations or services they break each item down for me.
For example if I wanted to get puppy vaccinations they state the flat fee for a visit. They then state the flat fee for the rabies vaccination, distermper vaccination, lyme vaccination, and so on. I always ask them to break down the price when they don't automatically do it. That way you can get a clear comparision between vets.
Since I believe in building a good relationship with a specific vet office and establish a history with my pet @ that office so that everytime I go in, they have the history of my pet and records so that when I need them, like I go to the groomers and they need to get rabies information and I don't have that with me (I file that away), I tell them my vet name and they look it up and talk to them. I don't call around for the "cheap" vet anymore I just pay whatever the fee is even if I think it's high because of that. It's been 2 and a half years that I've been with my vet and my dog passed away recently and I started a new relationship with my puppy. I think it's definately worth it.
But if you just want vaccinations you can also try calling your local shelter and pet stores for prices because they are usually cheaper and more reasonable. Definately ask them to break down the cost (not just give you a total fee) so you can judge for yourself. They should also tell you what is required for your dog depending on what age your dog (so that they don't try to con you into paying for unecessary treatment).
I don't think that's expensive for vaccnations especially since I just too my puppy in to get a lyme vaccine since it's unsually hot in this area during the wintertime (70 degrees in the Masschusetts) and there are cases of dogs catching ticks. I paid $71 dollars for the vaccine plus ($24.00) an office visit (47.00). This is my regular vet (as well as my boyfriend) and I have never had a problem with them so I"m willing to pay this much. Good Luck.

It is very costly for vet visits and they are usually running about the same in one area so that there is no real competition between them for services. That is why I always tell a person to think about the cost of the vet bills and make sure you can afford them before you you purchase a puppy from me.People that don,t have a clue wonder why it costs so much to raise a quality puppy and that is just a taste of the costs not to mention the thought and preparation and care that goes into Breeding.Sorry a good Breeder would have made sure to mention how much vet bills could cost.I always do and I have had people to leave without apuppy because they couldn,t afford or didn,t want anymore expence other that the fee for the puppy. You must get all immunization or your dog will never be safe from diseases that can even be tracked in your house from someones shoes not to mention airborn germs.Good Luck

I know that is a lot of money and yes it can go up that far. There is a cheaper way if you can get the vaccine your self and give the shots your self. The only shot that is necessary for a Vet to give is the Rabies vac.
You can get all of the shots except the Rabies at feed stores or large pet stores. I would get on the net and find out what you actually need and then get on the phone and call around. Doing it yourself is MUCH cheaper and the shots are just under the skin so you are not doing IM(intra muscle) shots that your probably don't know how to do in the first place.
You would just pull up some skin on the top part of should or neck using thumb and fingers, push the needle in just under where your fingers and thumb are, just under the skin and give the shot.
Good luck

The vaccines your canine will need will range relying in your area of the country and whether you are living in the city, a rural field, or take your canine to locations the place he/she shall be uncovered to different puppies. The one vaccine that's required for all dogs is the Rabies vaccine. Some states require you to have it finished each 3 years and a few require it every yr. Your metropolis or county might also require it every yr even though the state most effective requires it every three years. Verify your nearby ordinances. Other vaccines which might be quite often advocated for puppies are Parvo virus, Distemper virus, hepatitis/adenovirus form 2, parainfluenza. Some areas additionally propose vaccinating for Leptospirosa and Lyme ailment seeing that it is long-established in those areas of the country. Some of these vaccines could simplest have to take delivery of every three years rather than every yr. Speak to your vet about their recommendations. Bordetella is one more usually given vaccine that helps manage Kennel Cough. It's endorsed each 6 to one year relying for your dog's publicity. There are low rate vaccine clinics in all places the country. Your nearby humane or rescue team would typically be ready to point you within the correct direction. But be conscious that you simply usually do not get an intensive exam and do not get much recommendation or help from the vet at a low rate vaccine medical institution so that you should even have a commonplace vet to deal with other matters like heartworm testing and preventive, annual labwork, dental cleaning, and different diseases.

That's not bad... but once you factor in monthly preventatives like heart worm and flea meds, it's going to get even more expensive. You could check out pet insurance. It sounds dumb, but it might not be a bad idea if you're concerned with costs. Pets are expensive. Depending on where you live, it could cost more or less. To me, that seems pretty average or even below average.
Please don't let cost deter you from being a good pet owner. Spaying/neutering an animal can cost a lot, but it is always a good idea. Along with monthly preventative medicine and with annual checkups, you will end up saving a lot of money instead of only going to the vet when something goes wrong.
You could try calling around to other clinics, but not everyone will give a quote over the phone.

Depends on what you are getting with the Visit and Vaccination. If its a Checkup as well ( Common at good Vets) then yes, its worth the price, but if its just a needle and not much more, shop around. You will still be paying a fair bit, but good vets are worth the price.

I AM A VET!!! No if you would like to get a reasonable price go to your local animal shelter. Usually Shelters have vaccination clinics. Call and check it out. I used to be the vet there and vaccinations were only $50!! It is the same procedure and every thing is the same. Just because it is from a shelter doesn't mean it is less professional. Just check it out!! OK?

Look around for a deal. If money is tight and you just want a shot for the 7 n1 get it at the feed store and give it yourself. About 3-6 dollars depending on brand @ 6,9 and 12 weeks. Some states let you give your own rabies but most don't. Call the humane society and ask when they are setting up somewhere to give cheap rabies shots. Listen to the puppy breathe with your ear to his side and listen for something not sounding right. Make sure his gums are pink and his poo is looking normal. If not ask the clerk at the feed store what to use for worming and such.

Sounds reasonable. Certain vaccines cost a bit high. Find out what vaccine it is and call up few other vets through yellow pages and get a quote from them. Then you can compare.
