does anyone know about this artist that painted the painting of "abbey of St.Stephen. i would like to know if the church is still around and if i could find a actual picture of thius scene.

Although this is a very popular print, I can't find anything about the artist Sandon. The only Sandon I have listed was involved in painting Royal Worcester porcelain.

On to the building itself.

There are three quite well known abbey churches of St. Stephen in Europe. Two are in Germany (Augsburg and Wurzburg) but the most famous is the L'Abbaye aixe Hommes dedicated to St. Stephen in Caen, France. The building now serves as the Hotel De Ville (town hall). Sandon sounds like a French name to me, so I would guess this is the favourite building.
