No, I don't believe this is true. God calls it a sin, but he forgives us of our sins. What makes this sin less forgiveable than others? In my opinion, I don't think consider it that bad of a sin; afterall, it's not listed in the ten commandments with murder and theft or adultery.
I think it's more important to know God in your heart, believe in Him, so He will know you too. If you love Him, He'll save you.

Sorry babe, I know your question is geared toward Christians, and I am not a Christian, but this is a subject I take much interest in. The bible doesn't say that homosexuals go to hell. It just says that it's a sin, however, it only says this in the Old Testament. It also says in the Old Testament that eating shellfish, wearing clothes of different material, women cutting their hair, and remarrying after a divorce is a sin as well. But again, this is Old Testament stuff. According to the Christian religion, Jesus came to Earth to make peace between humans and God. Therefore, these strict rules such as don't cut your hair, don't eat shellfish, and don't be homosexual are nullified because of the sacrifice of Christ.
And for the record, Christianity is about the love and teachings of Jesus, and Jesus strictly commanded his followers to love one another, to NOT JUDGE and to NOT DIVORCE. He doesn't mention homosexuality, not once. So homosexuality isn't any more a sin than eating shrimp is.
Of course, this all is only according to the Christian religion. As a Pagan, I believe homosexuals are just as divine as everyone else. But I was a heavily practicing Christian for twelve years.
Blessed be.

According to many in the Christian tradition, homosexuality is a sin. So is lying. And cheating. And killing. And idolatry. A sin is a sin, and the Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So to answer your first question, yes, allegedly gay people are going to hell, along with everybody else.
As for the second part of your question, if someone is saved they are headed towards heaven. Salvation does not make Christians perfect, it just says that they acknowledge Jesus Christ as their savior and they will do their best (with God's help) to keep the sinning to a minimum.

My brother is gay. I once asked him if God gave him an opportunity to be a man or women but not a choice to be homosexual which would he choose, he said "I would want to be a woman." He said that he felt that he was a woman trapped in a man's body. I believe that a person who is born gay is not responsible for the genetic misfire that occurred during their formation. It's another story if someone straight makes a conscious decision to change their sexual preferance. I believe people were created to pro-create. Man and man cannot do that, neither can woman and woman. If it is the result of imperfection then God would not hold that against the person. He is going to cure the sick, heal the lame, make all things new. If it is a result of lustful desire to go against their flesh, they will be destroyed.

No, people go to hell because they insist upon refusing God's gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Someone who is truly born-again is going to WANT to escape the ungodly lifestyle of homosexuality, because God has changed their heart. If they refuse to repent of the sin of homosexuality, then God will turn them over to the lusts of their flesh. This is all discussed in the first chapter of the epistle to the Romans. It's found in the New Testament of the Holy Bible. Perhaps you should try reading that and then see if you have any questions that remain.

As hell is the translation for Sheol/Hades, which means grave/pit/burial ground, all who dies go there.
God knows the heart of a person, what God disapproves of is homosexual act, there are gays who do not engage in homosexual acts. and if they do repent (ask for forgiveness and not do it again) they will be forgiven...and with hell's description dead wont be burn in torment, such place doesnt exist. A loving God doesnt act wicked and unjust.

Whether or not you go to heaven or hell when you die has nothing to do with your sexual preference/choice. It is solely based on your personal relationship with Jesus Christ in this life. Have you asked him to forgive you of your sins and are you trusting in him as your savior (instead of yourself or your good works)? Sin is sin in God's eyes so He applies the same standard to us all because He does not play favorites. All of us have sinned and fall short of the standard God has set for us. But not all of us have come to Jesus for forgiveness. This is what determines if someone is going to hell or not.

No. If you're saved that won't be taken away from you. But a sin is a sin, whether you lie, cheat, steal, gossip, or opt for a homosexual life-style. We're all guilty of sin. It's our choice to contiue to do these things that disappoints God. But He loves all of us unconditionally anyway.

All I know is I was taught that when you ask for forgiveness and really mean it from your heart, and swear never to do it again, you will be forgiven.
As for being Gay,(and asking forgiveness if that is what you mean but keep your life style) That is totality up to the big guy up stairs. Judge not and you won't be judged. Also what I was taught.

Absolutely not! No church teaches that. God's love is unconditional, each person is a beloved child of the Creator. No true parent wishes to condemn a child to punishment or misery. By the grace of God all sins are forgivable - and homosexuality is not a sin. Rest assured in the saving power of God.
