what happens to obsolete electrical goods ?

there must be warehouses full of these goods eg old televisions -not plasma ,lcd or ipod's before the colour photo versions appeared and all other types of electrical stuff

oh yeah where can get them from

I always assumed they were dismantled, taken apart and recycled for parts. Thrown into trash dumps. I see many of them around at yard sales, antique stores etc. But I would LOVE to know if they are sitting around somewhere like you say in a warehouse.
