I think I had some side effects for the first 2 weeks or so, especially nausea and no appetite. The side effects you are having don't sound serious. Try to stick with it. It works very good for me. I have been taking Cymbalta for years.

Cymbalta, just like many other anti-depressants should be weened on to and off of. Switching directly off of the Effexor and on to Cymbalta is likely to be the cause of the side effects. I would speak with your doctor about these side effects and see if a more scheduled switch would be in your best interest. It also takes 4-6 weeks for these type medications to become adjusted by your system and to begin the positive effects.
I also had some gastrointestinal problems switching from one med to another in this genre of medication. I found that taking a week to bring the dose of one down and another week to raise the dose of the other helped tremendously.

Good Luck!

Hi! I have been on it for at least 6 months, along with other meds. The only side effect I get is a dry mouth. But some people are allergic to some meds and get wild reactions. I did that on Elavil, I cried hysterically. I was taken right off of it. When I was put on an antianxiety pill, after the first one, my heart pounded all night long! I was scared shi--less! Call your prescriber RIGHT AWAY and let her/him know of your symptoms. Don't take any more until you do that.

I am not on Cymbalta, but first I would recommend that you read carefully any printed info that came with your prescription. It should list any possible side effects. If you are still concerned, call your doctor.
