This is a basic smoothie recipe with many variations. It is low fat, low sugar and super delicious.

1 - 1 1/2 cups frozen fruit of choice
1/2-3/4 cup plain yogurt
Unfiltered juice to about 2/3 up the fruit and yogurt

Blend and enjoy. You may have to stop and stir a couple of times. I like smoothies to be so thick you almost have to eat them with a spoon, vary the fruit juice til you find your preferred texture.

This basic recipe can be varied with a little cinnamon, nutmeg, clove or vanilla to taste.
You can change the fruit juice.
You can add wheat germ, protein powder or nutritional yeast.
If you want it a little sweeter, you can add a little maple syrup or honey, but taste it first!

I've made this with frozen bananas and avocado with a touch of cinnamon and vanilla. Sounds weird but is the most amazing, creamy and sweet thing you've ever had.

Here is my favorite smoothie recipie. It is good for breakfast, a snack, drinking it near the pool in the summer, or add a splash of alcohol for a frozen cocktail!

Frozen Strawberries--use these instead of ice--they give color AND flavor and ice cubes will just melt and water the smoothie down

Canned Pineapple----use chunks or crushed, it is all the same

Bananas----use 1 whole one per serving

Orange juice---preferably the Minute Maid or tropicana kind in the jugs or cartons the the grocery refridgerated section----this is the liquid in the smoothie(never use water as your base liquid)---orange juice adds color and flavore more than water or milk (ick)

there is really no certain amount of ingredients, but just add as much as you want. i like bananas and orange juice the most, so i use a little strawberry, a little pineapple, about 1 1/2 cups orange juice, and 1 or 2 bananas because i just love their taste!

In blender, combine 3/4 cup orange juice, 1/2 cup sliced banana, 2 tsp. brown sugar and 1/8 tsp. almond extract. Add 2 ice cubes and blend until thick and smooth. .... Your Orange-Banana Breakfast Smoothie.

This "savory smoothie" is a surefire bone-builder, thanks to calcium from the yogurt and vitamin C from fresh tomatoes.

In blender, whirl 1 cup plain low-fat yogurt, 1 large ripe plum tomatoes, 1/2 tsp dried basil, crumbled, and 1/4 tsp salt until very smooth, 2 minutes. serve over ice, if desired.

*** If you don't have a blender or food processor, you can still whip up smoothies with a wire whisk in the deep bowl.

~~~~~~~~~~ Enjoy ~~~~~~~~~~ _;-)
Throw some ice cubes in a blender, toss in a banana and some strawberries and blend until smooth. You don't need sugar, it's sweet enough without it. Adding milk and sugar make it so much higher in calories.
