so what is the difference between religion and spirituality here at Y! Answers?

do we become more spiritual by following anothers idea of spirituality and truth (religion) or do we become religious when we try to replicate spirituality and another's experience and understanding?

is there a right answer to being religious or spiritual?

what is the benefit of being both religious and spiritual? can you be either without the other?

In short: Being religious means you follow a certain religion, or denomination. Being spiritual comes more from "within". No set rules and dogmas from "Man".

Been religious, even to accomplish simple chores in life is a good thing, Sample picking your close, clean your room,, wash your face and brush your tees, that is basically a religious thing we should all do, because they are good thing to get accustom to do??, then there is the Spirit, do you think your own spirit your spiritual being will feel good about this?, I think he will?, I born in South America, and truly I believed there is a greater awareness of Spiritualism, back there as there is a greater sense of awareness to day in U.S., also Tibet have a higher sense of the same spiritual awareness al though they may call it something difference?, your Spirit is an Inert and Invisible almost ethereal entity, which can be in direct communication with the Spirit of God or Holly spirit, he is the key to God and Jesus true, also to the creation of Humanity, religious, you can be religious in your own way's, though goodness, that many times we can't find in our hearts, can be always found in your own Spirit as well that is what will give you more Spirituality, which can become a must for a religious Icon.<

Religion is a stepping stone for the masses that help them begin to live the necessary lifestyle to receive from the true prophet within or sometimes called Gnosis. That is to say that its the milk to the babes before they grow teeth to chew the meat of the mysteries of God. And this why Paul said the letter killeth but the spirit gives life. And he is right the literal letter that fundamentalists worship kills the soul but when one moves on to a higher rung, using their religion as a foundation greater things then the begin to understand the spirit behind everything.

Spiritual then is understanding how everything outside of you is allegorically projecting aspects of your own mind. And you become spiritual by living a consecrated lifestyle that allows your higher aspects of mind to become active. Because the body only develops aspects of the mind that pertain to the body, the others are foreign. This is why man utilizes 10% of his brain because the other 90% are not of the earth. Religion is a foundation for spiritual things to be built, but only if one can unloose their mind and not cling to the milk of the doctrine, less it becomes the letter that killeth.

I think you can be both. I also know that there is very little of either one here on Yahoo. Religion is mans way of relating with GOD. Spirituality is the am out of awareness one has of their relationship with GOD.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

All a person needs to concern themselves with is their Salvation through accepting the Son of God, Jesus as their personal Savior and turn their lives over to Him. Repent of their sins daily because we are all sinners every day.

God will not look upon the sin or the sinner. That is why God sent His Son Jesus to cleans the sins of those who are willing to come to Him through repentance of them. Praise the Lord!!

Religious means not to follow a specific religion. You have to follow true religion. No question is which one is true then you have to find it. How much you struggle for your studies and other achievements. Have you ever try to find real religion. I am by birth christian and i have spent 40years to find the truth. There are many versions of bible so we cant trust on any one of them, you have to find what the real bible says. Real bible was changed by our greedy preachers and our kings and rulers who used it for thier own needs. After reading and doing a lot of reasearch christianity is true religion but not in this present form. How normal human being can kill a God. Your son just could be a human not a tiger so if we as christian believe Jesus as son of God so it means he was a God. so how human can kill a God in such a brutal way. No no i dont beleive in it. Jesus was human and he is alive in heaven. They tried to crusified him but he is alive in heaven. I believe in real bible written by Jesus and instructed by GOD. Jesus did not write it by himself ,, holy spirit (angle) was giving messages of GOD to him. Jesus was just one and GOD is just one. Try to find out why they changed our religion. We as americans think we are free but we are not . Someone are controlling our minds and beliefs through media and proper propeganda. Why they changed our bible. Do they think they more powerful and intelligent than GOD. No wake up and find the truth,, just because of that we are going away from our religion. because we cant believe that normal humans cant kill son of GOD.... but that all are false stories added by our old time kings and preachers churches to use it for thier own purpose. We need to follow Jesus and GOD not the bibles written by greedy human beings. We have enough time for other things but not for jesus and GOD. Try to find truth,, who did that and why they did it. Without believing in jesus we cant be christian but we dont need to believe jesus as son of GOD. i am christian and i will die as chrisitan but i dont believe in jesus as son of God. I love him in his real form and i love bible in its real form not addited by greedy kings and preachers. try to have some time for Jesus and GOD. We as christians dont talk about GOD,, we just talk about Jesus as son of GOD. so we dont know anything about GOD and we just pretend we love son of GOD. No GOD is very powerful,, controlling everything. Humans are weak,, even in this peak time of technology we cant control on death, even we could not predict about sonami. God is God,, no body can kill him. God dont have death,, so if we belive jesus as son of God so how he can die and how he could be so weak ,,, no no no,,, time to wake up and follow real christianity. I am christian but i dont believe in any new bibles,, read real bible in Hebrew language and translate it. Dont follow any king's bible. Follow bible of Jesus. Think about it then your religion and spirtuality will become one ... There is one Jesus and one GOD.. Try to find out about GOD too.
