After all isnt it true that god has your whole life planned out for you, so if you committ suicide wouldnt that have to have been his plan?? I mean, I can see how it would also be considered murder, but wouldnt that mean if you committ suicide god planned it for you and he planned you to be a murderer, and if god planned it does that make it a sin??

In my worldview, it is not necessarily true that God has our lives planned out for us. If He did, we could just skip to the end and be done with it. Instead, I believe that we have free will, He just happens to already know what our choices will be. For instance, we know that a little toddler will throw a tantrum if he or she doesn't like what is going on. That doesn't mean we planned for them to have the tantrum, we just know it's going to happen.

As for suicide, I believe it is a sin. Surely we can cite the Ten Commandments that "Thou shalt not kill," but there is a more basic principle at work here: the sanctity of human life. By committing suicide, we essentially choose to reject God's greatest gift, life.

my belief is this: we all have a blueprint for our lives planned out...(some believe that we helped write our own blueprint before we can in this time "reincarnation").........however: we also have free will and can step off of that path at any time to fulfill a much sought after dream, etc... we have free will....although there are many paths that one can go down in life, we all come in with a pre-destined map, so to speak, it is up to us, to change the look and feel of that map....
I work with people who have had a family member who have done this very thing.....and I believe many different reasons why people do this.........they may be crying out for help, but this suiside usually fails...........I also believe that there are souls that come into this life, that are just not meant to be here, yet....and somehow they just "know" it. The person feels like they never quite "fit in." No, never would I ever even consider it an unforgivable "sin." but then, I don't believe the way many do. I am not a christian, I am a spiritualist............I guess in christianity, god would expect the person to live no matter what hell on earth he was going through.....not sure about that one..but tthat's the way it looks to me. p.s. I grew up in a christian household so I do know much of the bible and the christian "way."

There is G-d's perfect will and permissive will for my life, not a plan. If I follow His perfect will, there can nought but good come from it. If I follow His permissive will, things may not be as good, and in fact they may even be disastrous. A parent has ideas that may be ideal for their child, it may not be the child's ideal though. Suicide, frankly is certainly not G-d's perfect will. How could it be?
Neither would it be His permissive will. This is so, because the life you take, either yours or anothers, is not yours to take, it doesn't belong to you. It is as if you are taking the place of G-d, and consequently, that is a sin.

Sin is doing something against Gods purpose. God doesn't plan out our sins for us. His purpose is planned. And God works all things for the good for those who trust in Him.

So, when man does awful sin like suicide, it grieves Gods Spirit. If person commits suicide when not born of God, then person goes to hell. Do you think God planned that? No. It is Gods will that all would come to repentence. That none would be lost. If a born of God Christian doesn't know who he is in Christ and is decieved by the devil to the point of suicide, person will go to heaven, but wont get the rewards God wanted to give. God wants to give rewards. He is a reward giving God.

Any act of suicide grieves God.

Why have you come up with so many erroneous conclusions of God. God isn't in your box.

God would never plan the death of one of his children...
That's insane. God watches over us and him and his angels are their to protect us. Taking away life is always a sin. God only wants the best for us, but he can only act through us indirectly.
If we go out and drink and drive and get ourselves killed that's our bad decision that brought us there, not God's vengenance. Just like deciding to kill yourself, takes away your opportunity to influence lives around you make a positive difference in the world.

Yes,it's a sin to commit suicide...

Of course God has planned for each and every ones life....But he also gave us ability to take decisions for our self...So,if anyone is planning to commit suicide...it's his own decision....

Maybe God brings bad time for all of us,but that doesn't mean he wants us to commit suicide. It's his test for human beings....he wants to see how far we can go in spite of all the difficulties....If anyone commits suicide, that means he has no faith on God....
By committing suicide,he's showing disrespect towards God.
So it's a clear sin...

yes it is a sin. God gives you free will and you can make your own choices. It is not his plans for you to die but he knows when and how you are going to. He allows things to happen but if he wanted to stop it, he could

You are describing fatalism, which a lot of people who have been in contact with reformed doctrine of predestination confuse. Predestination is the foreknowledge of God of past, present, and future; He transcends time. There is a Hebrew tense that captures this concept, that cannot be translated into English, which is why it sounds as if God does or sends evil.

Ten Commandments: Thou shalt not kill.

According to christian belief, suicide is considered a "mortal sin" because it shows a lack of faith in god. You loose all hope that god can or will help you. So, you take your own life instead of consulting "him" first.
