I recommend -

Trend Micro PC-cillin
Norton AntiVirus
McAfee VirusScan.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0

All these software are good and free. They are also better than AVG. You can download any one of this in the order of preference given above. Best of Luck-

First of all I assume that you have Windows O/S on your computer. If so, there is no need to add 2, 3 or more programs to fight the issues of today.

If you do have Windows this is really all you need: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=435BFCE7-DA2B-4A6A-AFA4-F7F14E605A0D&displaylang=en

(Windows Defender)..It is a free program that helps you stay productive by protecting your computer against pop-ups, slow performance and security threats caused by spyware and other potentially unwanted software. However Windows Defender no longer supports Windows 2000 as mainstream support ended in June 2005.

Don't fill up your computer with more than you need. All you will do is cause your system to slow down.

Try it and see!

Enjoy the safty and regain your computer all in one appiclation.

Avast http://www.avast.com is free for home users and is consistantly winning 'in the wild' awards. It is very small in memory/cpu needs, and updates on a daily basis. I am a consultant and recommend it to all of my customers. They do have a professional version at a low price for home or corporate users that includes script protection.
