can anyone help me i am looking for files on my great great grandad william abraham.
his nickname was mabon.
he lived in cwmavon and was a coal miner.

You should take a look at the Family Search Site, there are 154 entries for that name. Many of them could be him, and only you can narrow it down.
Also, you can try the GENFORUM, post a note, search existing postings, and maybe find someone with similar interest in the surname abraham.

A good way to start would be to do a Websearch on "Welsh Genealogy" on either Yahoo or Google[OMG the other one!]. You will get a load of places to start your reasearch! Like...
