Aw,that's so sad that he's been at a Rescue Organization for 2 years!! He's really nice looking, not like the traditional Border Collie. Border Collie's are wonderful dogs and VERY ACTIVE tho I have known some to be laid back. So be sure you can commit yourself to his activity needs. Mine was a mix, almost 100% Border Collie. I miss him soooo much! He was the most loyal friend I ever had. He **LOVED** tennis balls, stuffed toys (knew all their names!) car rides, and would play fetch endlessly! I applaud you for adopting instead of buying from a Breeder!!! All my kids (dogs and cats) came from Shelters or were strays. My only concern is why he's been there for 2 years. Other than that, I say GO FOR IT AND GOD BLESS YOU!!!

Sounds great. I just hope you have not made enough attention fall on him that someone else gets him before you do. Have you already put in your application to adopt him?
BTW, thanks for drawing attention to the adoption web site. Perhaps others will also put up something about adoption web sites. It is a great idea, particularly with breed-specific groups, so you can perhaps catch someone who knows the specific breed, and they will get better care and more affection as a result.
But let's not forget the lovable mutts, OK?

He is precious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go for it and I am proud of you for wanting to give him a good, loving forever home, he is a very, very lucky boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)). I have a rescue little boy myself (picture to the left), he was in foster care for 8 1/2 months and I thought that was a long time!
Congradulations! Once you adopt a rescue you will never want to go back to buying dogs when there are so many out there like Alex and Schmitty (that's the name of mine) wanting, needing and deserving good forever homes.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you like jogging. Border collies needs LOTS of exercise. They are also very smart dogs and need consistant training.
Have fun with him.

Do it! I`m sure you won`t regret it. Border Collies besides being lovely dogs are absolutely brilliant.

Sounds like the perfect dog. well behaved.
The only question you gotta ask is..why would someone get rid of the "perfect dog" ?
if the reason is valid i say go for it.

He is very handsome and sounds awsome too. Just please do your research on the breed so you know what kind of energy this dog has and what kind of mental stimulation he is going to need. Good Luck to you both and God Bless.
