Anyplace that sells fishing licenses should have a book with the regulations. It not only varies from state to state, it varies between bodies of water. Also, make sure you can identify different species of bass since some look similar, Spotted bass and Large-mouth for example. Good luck and good fishing.

In, Indiana 14" is the state limit, but some lakes have, what is known as a slot limit. When there is a 18" slot limit it means, that you can keep a certain number of bass under 14", and usually only 1 bass over 18"

it really depends on the restrictions of the lake. in this one lake i fish, there is no limit on sizes, but you could only keep 2, SO we would keep 3-5 pounders bass only and let the rest go. if you dont know then, call your local DNR; they should tell you.
