Bear in mind that people who report others as tax evaders are often audited themselves . . . assumptions about the nature of the company they keep, etc.

Rewards are few and far between, and taxable.

Hmmm. I know someone who doesn't pay sales tax and it drives me CRAZY ..I have thought many times of turning them in but I figure that they will have to answer for it someday. You don't say what kind of taxes. I guess you can call the dept. of revenue for your state and they can direct you from there. They might ask your name...??
