I think it depends entirely upon the individual. Everyone is so different. Plus, there's different kinds of dating. Group dating seems to be good for when you start to date - I would say around 13 or 14. Then maybe double dating when you're a bit older (14, 15) and then dating on your own (16...).
But I think it's probably good not to get too serious is high school - there's too much other fun stuff to do to get locked into the drama of dating at that age.

as a teenager, my parent don't want me to have boyfriend till i get out of high school, literally till im 18, because then, they know that i will know between right and wrong, even though im going to college next yr, and im not eighteen, they know that i have enough sence to decide what i want in a guy because if i dont have enough sence, then i shouldn't have past high school. and i have to agree because if i had let myself had bf in middle school and high school, there will be a lot of tear in my life and lots of heartbreak and you have a lot to deal with in middle and high school so breaking up with a guy and the heart ache is too much for someone who have to focus on studies, and a girl shouldn't be going through that at that age. so i will say at least the person should know wat's right and trust me it's not when a person is in middle school maybe 12 grade in high school but atleast you know you will be graduating. Alot comes with relationship and if you are not ready for the commitment and the heartbreak that comes along with it, then you shouldn't get your self in it.

As a determine am i able to applaud your adulthood, I surely have a 17 12 months previous too and he or she's in no way dated. i could in no way motivate her to yet i've got in no way necessary to give up her the two. She is extremely focused on her destiny and is conscious what she needs and is conscious that she desires to place the artwork in now to realize that destiny and there will be loads of time for relationship later. sure she does get asked yet she courteously turns them down. Her sister is sixteen in a pair of months and he or she's a similar way on the full however she is greater probably to snort at her some human beings she is conscious who seem to have a sparkling love they could't stay with out each and each month, she's presently waiting to work out who broadcasts they are pregnant next. youth is only that youth, why rush to strengthen up with each and all of the topics and household projects savour your little ones while you could.

Probably start dating around 14. But they shouldn't get serious until they are at least 17 or 18 (depending on the kid).

I think 8th grade is when they should be able to start having bf and gf because they are old enough to understand stuff and it is right before high school. I think when they start younger they dont really understand what it is, it is just a title so they can say they have a bf or gf

my parents let me date at age 14 and i thank them for actually meeting the girl and taking us to the movies instead of letting me run wild.
i see there is nothing wrong with dating once you become a teenager as long as you are responsible and your parents keep a close eye on you.i had a friend whos mom wouldn't let him date at age 14 so he did it behind her back and got a girl pregnant now hes 15 and has to take care of a baby.i say let TEENS date as long as you KNOW whats going on.

High school is probably their best bet, although if I had kids (snort) (titter), I would recommend not dating at all. I would want them to do the thing I should have done and focus completely on their own fulfillment.

depends how serious it is. usually around the age of 11-12 is when they start but it's just for fun, nothing serious. i'd say it's around 15 when they start taking it seriously!
