Man sometimes has to sacrifice his own supremacy by creating gods in his image. It is a huge sacrifice, but it made possible the endless destruction and slaughter in the name of such beings. Man does not like being seen as "evil", you see?

Yes, most Theists have sacrificed their common sense, and their quest for verifiable truth regarding the origin of man and the universe.
They have allowed their fear of eternal damnation( a popular myth) and their greed for a "new life" (another myth) to short circuit there brains.
