They don't have to get along. But they need to tolerate your boyfriend, and he needs to tolerate them because they are YOUR friends. But if your best friend has any kind of negative thoughts about who you are dating, you should pay attention to your friend's thoughts and reconsider your boyfriend. You have a healthy attitude about the chances of him sticking around, kudos! That's refreshing to see. In today's world, how many people at 20 end up staying together forever? Not many I take it! :)

In my opinion, it's very important that your boyfriend gets along with your friends. My best friend and I have known each other our entire lives, and she knows almost everything about me. I know that if she doesn't get along with a guy I like, he must not be right for me.

I don't think that it should be a criteria for someone you love. As long as you don't let each relationship affect the other-it should be fine. Your best friend needs to respect your decisions if she is your friend as well as the same thing goes for your boyfriend.

If your friends have your best interest at heart and they don't like your boyfriend, maybe they're seeing something you aren't. Sounds like you have a good rule regarding your best friend needing to like your boyfriend.

he doesn't have to get along with your friends. respecting them not interfering the your relation is fair enough. so i guess, you can keep both relations separately! it's not always the case that your b/f doesn't like your friend, but sometimes it's vice versa. most imporant is that you feel, your decision of choosing friends & b/f is personal and can meet and talk with whoever you want!
