I need to know the difference between hydro, nuclear, and thermal power. Comparisons would be great. Thanks.

The difference between the three is their sources for energy. Hydro comes from moving bodies of water like waterfalls or rivers or dams in which their current turns dynamos that converts mechanical energy into electricity. There is also a term called Hydro thermal that converts heat of water into electrical energy. Its sources are hot springs or volcanic lakes.

Nuclear power on the other hand produce energy from nuclear fission (the separation of nucleus of a certain atom) or fission (the joining of atoms' nucleus to produce a new element). Such processes alters nuclear/atomic make-up that produces vast sums of energy. A good example is an nuclear baomb though this is a negative result because it is destructive. But this energy has good uses. Such amount of energy is very useful in producing electrical energy that can fuel a country.

Thermal power gets its source mainly on produced heat by nature. Such as hot springs and volcanic activities. In this type of power the heat is utilized to produce pressure that can be converted into energy in the same way that people use steam.

So the main difference is mainly the sources and the type that produces the most amount of power is nuclear. However, utmost care is needed for utilizing this power because it is radioactive and is dangerous if errors or leaks happen.

Hydro electric power harnessed the kinetic energy from falling water such as from a dam. Nuclear electric power harnesses the energy released from splitting the atom. Thermal electric power is energy from the sun's heating water or other earthly material.

There is also solar electric power which harnesses the suns's light rays by disengaging electrons in silicon.

Well I know hydro uses Water like dams to build power while thermal uses heat. Not sure about Thermal.

hydro power is power made by use of water. thermal is heat energy, and nuclear is that made by using atoms and elemental reactions. nuclear is the most powerful but dangerous.

Hydro power is a water power plant. It is fairly clean but most likely an institution has to dam up a river, causing animals and plants to lose their habitat. It floods on one side of the dam and recedes on the other side.

your intenion is to create electricity with the use of a generator being used...from what sources?
hydro - from water, example, man-made dams.
nuclear - from atomic particles, example, splitting atoms in the
nuclear power plant.
thermal - from steam, example, natural gizzers.

Quite simple:

Hydro power means generating power through WATER

Nuclear power means generating power through RADIOACTIVITY

Thermal power means generating power through HEAT
