Mean as in how? Does he pull pranks and be irritating or does he hit you? If he plays pranks it usually means he likes you a lot but has a macho self image and is actually a little scared to romantic. If he's hitting you (and I don't mean little love punches) drop him like a hot brick.

If he's your boyfriend, dump him. If he's just a person, be mean back or just ignore him. Some guys hate when you ignore them. Trust me.
