If men don't "quit" acting like @55holes, I will have to become "quite" the ***** even though I am most thought of as being "quiet".

I should hope they do or they should if they graduated from high school.

English has a lot of homophone words (which are spelled differently but pronounced the same) such as "quiet" and "quite". Many people mix them up when writing (as they do with "your" and "you're" etc.).
the missing "e" in "quit" is just a very frequent typo.

Sometimes it's just finger farts on the keyboard and using spell check does not help as those are words in their own right. Spell check doesn't take the context into consideration when checking the spelling.

I could equally have typed heir, there, or write or writ and used the spell check, they would not have been picked up.
