Plenty of people cry at the doctor's office. Doctors understand the human condition. Nobody is going to look down on you for the way you feel at the doctor's office. Crying is normal when you are feeling depressed. So get to a doctor and get some relief. Isolating yourself is not a good idea. Get out there and start the healing process!

First of all, don't feel alone in your depression. There are millions of people in this country who suffer from depression. In fact, it's practically an epidemic. The important thing is that you talk about it to someone as soon as possible. These things have a way of taking over your life and are harder to treat the longer they go on. Research has found that most depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, which really makes it a physical malady rather than a mental disorder. If you had high blood pressure or some other physical disorder, wouldn't you go to the doctor and get treatment? Depression is no different. There are drugs out there that can help you. Just remember that the professionals out there see thousands of people suffering from the same things as you are, and are there to help you, not to judge you.

You have a simple choice, endure this way of feeling or seek help now. Physical exercises is important whether you want to or not, being among people is important even if it is just to moderately share that company. But mental health assistance is almost always available and affordable. The solution to this may well only be a phone call a Lil therapy a few meds and an active role on your part. Some depressions are impossible to escape on your own. But help is close and waiting for you to ask for it. You deserve it....so do it. Be well.

I am sorry to hear that. You really need to see your medical doctor to eliminate any physcial possibility, like a thyroid issue or any abnormal bloodwork when they perform a complete blood check. This could be causing your current state of mind and/or dark thoughts. It's very important that you tell the doctor exactly what kind of "dark thoughts" you are having. If you hear voices, etc., tell the doctor. These are key factors for the doctor to weigh while determining what type(s) of mental health condition you are experiencing. There are numerous mental illinesses that are all treatable with the correct medications for your symptons. Remember, relief is what you are after. If it is depression, that is a very common disorder that can sneak up on us. And it too, IS treatable. There are varying degrees of depression and other mental illinesses.
I really hope things get better for you.

Knowing that you need help is very important, the next step is going to get it. Unfortunatley it is not fast help, but dont let that deter you. Call an mental health office, and make an appt. tell them every thing you said here in your question. Ask if you can get the soonest appt. and then GO to it. HOLD ON! you can get help, you may need meds, which is ok to take, dont let it be a stigma for you, do what you need to fix this, it is a temporary state, but it does need professional help. Try hard to muster up all the courage you can and look in the phone book under mental health and find someone to call. Good Luck to you and you have taken the first step, now pick the next one and go in the right direction for help, its ok really.

If you've had these symptoms for more than a few weeks, you may be suffering from clinical depression. It's a chemical imbalance in your body that can be treated with medication. I've had several bouts of it through the years, and it is effectivey treatable. Most importantly.....understand it isn't a character flaw or weakness. It is a physical condition, just like diabetes or anemia. Get to the Doc and get started on the therapy.......life is too short to spend in the dumps!!
Good luck

You MUST go to the doctor. That's the only way to get past it if this is truly clinical depression. You can't get through it without professional help. It is scary, but it will get even worse if you don't reach out for help. If this is not just a case of the blues, which judging from you question it's not, then you need to get help. Trust me, you will be glad that you did. Praying for you and your situation.

Okay this is what you need to do. You need to go to the doctor. Go to a local hospital, and just check yourself in. They will take care of you and help you with your problems. Talk to someone close. A confidant. Don't go by yourself if you should feel uncomfortable about the situation. Get help before the situation becomes unbearable.Please. There are people who care and people who love you.

I know that going to a doctor may seem scary, especially when you don't know the person. So if you don't want to go, then find some one to vent to. Some one who can be there for you and try their best to help you. It may be hard, but you are not the only one. Also try to think about all the good things in your life, and remember them when you become depressed. If you ever need anything then you can write me...
