I've had a chronic infection in my right arm (due to hardware my body is trying to reject) for about seven years. At first I was prescribed Bactrum, and that worked until just recently. Now I've been put on Tetracycline and it's making me feel awful. I'm tired all the time and my sensitivity to light is terrible. I was doing some research on the web and I think I may have found an alternative, it's called Doxycycline. With this medicine I would only have to take two doses a day instead of four, and I don't have to take it on an empty stomach. Does anyone know anything about this medication? Do you think it could help me?

You need to be discussing this with your doctor. At the first sign that a medicine is not agreeing with you, call your doctor. There's no need to suffer. It's great that you found a possible alternative, but now you need to consult with your doctor. He may have a reason that it won't work for you in particular, instead of hearing all of our speculations. He may also be reminded of a great medicine that would work perfectly for you. Best of luck.
