I have had dogs my whole life and thought I had heard everything about toxic foods but i just learned this. I followed up with research and it appears to be true. Has anyone ever experienced a problem with feeding their dog onions or garlic for that matter?

yeah i did, all dogs ar eallergic to more rooted things than meat and stuff, the plants of onions and potatoes even have something in them that there body cant digest so it clogs up there system and kills them.

I've heard that onions where toxic but not garlic (cause I've heard that garlic can help keep fleas off dogs but don't know if it is really effective).

Onions are mildly toxic to dogs - best to avoid them completely but not to panic if they eat a little in food.

Yes cause once my mom made this great garlic bread and i gave my maltese a bit as a treat because it smelt really good, after i was done i gave him his treat cause i did'nt ever feed him from the table and then he felt sick, i did not give him that much but he felt sick for a while, so i guess it was the garlic=(
