The 82ND Airborne Division fields three brigades of Infantry Paratroopers: The 504th, 505th, and the 325th which is actually a regiment w/ four battalions instead of three. Because the 82nd is called America's division one brigade must stay here in case anything happens within our borders. That leaves two brigades one in Afghanistan and one in Iraq. The combat tours can last anywhere from a year or even up to eighteen months before they rotate back to the states. This is dependent on situation and what is nessesary determined by the Pentagon.

It will vary a little bit, totally dependent on the situation (country of deployment, politics, etc.). Typically a year is the standard deployment length.

Most combat deployments by the 82d Airborne last a year, if that's what you mean.
