Lennox Lewis had 44 fights with 41 wins and 1 draw. He stopped 32 by way of ko or tko. Can you please explain how you say he has a glass jaw cause I fail to see it. He avenged his 2 defeats therefore beating every man he has fought. Also he retired a world champion and was the best boxer in modern day fighting.

Joe Bugner was also a pretty good fighter giving Frazier and Ali plenty to worry about. There is no shame losing to these men and going the distance with them deserves even more credit.

I agree that Danny Williams is only an average fighter but would not go as far as saying he is a bum.

Cooper was ok but short of world class but he also gave Ali a scare.

Frank Bruno lacked in stamina but eventually did win the world title. Ok he did not hold it for long and that's because he defended against a Tyson who at that time was still the best fighter around. At least he had the balls to take him on again when he could have made easier defences.

I could say the same about the Americans at this moment in the heavyweight division. The division now is the poorest it has been for years and there is not one out there who holds any of the main world belts.

British Heavyweights

Jim Driscoll, Ted "Kid" Lewis, Jimmy Wilde, and who could forget Bob Fitzsimmons. These were all great fighters. Henry Cooper probably came the closest of any fighter to knocking Muhammad Ali out unfortunately the punch came at the end of the round and then Ali's trainer Dundee ripped a hole in Ali's glove giving him more time to recover. The English have nothing to be ashamed about. I know these are not all heavyweights but the English had some good fighters.

Lewis annhilated Tyson and beat Holyfield (2 of top ten boxers ever). Cooper, yes slag him all you want, he decked Ali and would have won except for being prone to cuts. You obviously haven't watched any more of his fights! Bugner was one of the finely tuned athletes in game and when he could be bothered (most of time he couldn't) he was fantastic. After 15 rounds with Ali, he went swimming, Ali was in hospital with exhaustion. Frank Bruno had one of best knockout percentages of all time heavyweights, including Tyson! Fine about Williams!

btw look at the punches Lewis took when he was stopped! Only one or two in world could have taken them, hhe was never judged on being able to take a punch, only oon his skills and heart, he ranks amongst the top two for that, only Ali on skill and Holyfield on heart beat him!

Lewis retired and now look what the heavy weight div. looks like makes you want to see Frank Bruno come outta retirement. Its not that the Brits are bad its that the states have about 5 times the people to draw from. Look the Russians champs now except for Dr Klitcsko all suck does that mean that all Russians are bad boxers no just like it means that your question has little merit I am not trying to piss you off its important that YOU asked the question but look at HOWE you asked it.........any boxing question is a good question..

i admire Williams, at his superb he became international classification, an extremely proficient fighter. As you assert even with the shown fact that he's long previous it now and is presently extremely scraping by technique of unknowns in places like Sweden and Spain. i think of money might have something to do with it, it very generally does, besides the undeniable fact that I did pay attention he became going to grow to be a action picture star minder which might even have paid better than the six rounders he's battling throughout this present day day. in line with risk he's like certainly one of those super variety of boxers in that he properly-knownshows the entice of the hoop too reliable to stroll faraway from, or perhaps he's deluding himself into questioning that he continues to be the boxer he became. in my opinion i think of Williams might desire to have retired 3 years in the past, once you're previous it the only way you could go is down eg risk your wellbeing, harm your record. optimistically he will retire quickly.

They aren't. There are and were some very good boxers and some American heanvyweights have said so. They always give a good fight; whether they win or not. Cooper especially was admired.

The USA has a population 6 times that of the UK. If you think about it, it only makes sense for the US to have six times as many of the best heavyweight boxers, or anything for that matter...
