Thank you for all you do! I do not have an answer to your question, I just feel very sad that it even has to be a concern on your part. Stand tall and proud and since LOVE isn't hiding around every corner, CONGRATULATIONS on finding it!

I can see that you are simply trying to fulfill your duty as an American citizen, I commend you for that! I am personally and diametrically opposed to gays in the military, because I have seen the sleazy side of this. People who I served with who, once they gained your confidence and friendship, revealed themselves, it was never the same after that.
Guys can feel violated just as women do. The thought of these guys eyeing you in the shower, wrestling with you in fun, bumping up against you, and all this after you realize they are gay, is a huge cultural shock! There have been a few sad incidents of retaliation because of this. One thing the public doesn't realize about young soldiers, etc., is their untested sexuality. Most young people fear the prospect that they could be gay, and to have someone promoting the idea of a homosexual relationship, can trigger some hostile responses. Sorry, I digress!
In your situation, you are probably risking your military career. a committed relationship to someone of the same sex, is a pretty blatant violation of the rules. First, you're violating mine and many others by calling your union a marriage and sactified by the religion of my youth. Secondly, you are taking the don't ask, don't tell agreement with gays in the military and rubbing their face in it. Go ahead, wear the ring of deception, it will be like Maggie's drawers on the rifle range, and sure to render you, disqualified! Your views of gays in the military really does raise the bar, I believe it would be in the best interest of the military that you stay in your committed relationship, but not in uniform. Otherwise good luck to you!

Wait till you leave the army to get married. Its not worth the **** that could happen to you. And second take the question down because someone could see this accidently and find out your identity. I know it sucks but its not something you can share while in the military

If you are in the military, then you already know that you will be discharged when you are discovered to be gay. How are you going to marry without letting your commanding officer know of your plans? How will your illegal spouse recieve benifits if you should pay the ultimate sacrifice?

Don't falsely pose as a servicemember. It's insulting to those of use that did serve, gay or straight.

I am against gay marriage because it is not equal to marriage between a man and woman. I hope you choose not to get married. I think the law will change in mass when people get to vote as opposed to ACLU activist judges that make these unsubstantiated laws. Usually gay marriage fails when people get to vote. I am for civil unions and benefits for gays.

Thanks for serving in the military, but they would for sure find out if that happened. You would for certain get a discharge, but I do not think that you would get into any actual trouble trouble.

Don't ask, don't tell. Means what it says. It is still against the rules to be gay in the military, they just can't ask you if you are.
