Deist for 26 years and converted to Christianity. Why? Nothing else made sense to me and trust me, I looked at every religion known to man.

Jesus Saves.

I was born into a Catholic family and went to a Catholic grade school. There I saw priests that had affairs with nuns and nun's who physically abused students. By the time I was 13 I started my search for the True religion. I tried 7th Day Advocates, Born Again, Lutheran, Judaism but all seemed to fall short. I decided that no religion could possibly be pleasing to God and so I went on my own having a personal relationship with God apart from religion. Then I had children and I wanted them to have a relationship with God, so I instilled what I could. I then lost all of my relatives outside of my husband and children in a series of tragedies that occurred within a 6 week period. The loss was so great that I cried and prayed for 2 years that God would help me to understand and know why it happened and where they were now. Jehovah's Witnesses came to my door, you know it wasn't the first time, but this time I listened. They shared scriptures with me that made since. They started to visit me on a regular basis, but I was sure that one day they would say something so off the wall that I would have to send them on their way. That never happened. That was 23 years ago. I've been a Witness for 20 years now, my husband and children also made the choice to become Witnesses. My boys when they were 14 and 17. We love the life Jehovah has given us and enjoy sharing his wonderful promises with others. I will never regret the choice I made. I now know that there is a religion that is truley pleasing to God and his son, a religion that really listens to God and does just as he asks them to do.
Thank you for asking your question, it reaffirms the reasons I choose to be who I am.

My religion is Islam. I went to Sunday school until I was 7 years old than didn't go to Church again until I was like 14 or 15 years old. I wasn't Christian at all. I converted to Christianity June 28th 2006. At the time I thought I was doing the right thing. But I knew I wasn't doing what God wanted by worshipping Jesus(PBUH*) as God. I knew enough about the Old Testament to know there was suppossed to be only one God. So I didn't want to go to Hell for worshipping a man. On October 2nd, 2006 I reverted to Islam. I am a lot happier now as a Muslim than I was as a Christian. I feel as if my life got better since I became a Muslim.

I was Catholic till I was 17. Someone challenged me to find in the Bible everything the Catholic religion was doing. I had never read the Bible but when I did I found a lot of things the Catholic church was doing was very different than the Bible. So I left the Catholic Church. I am now a Blood bought, born again, child of God. That was 1976. I go to the Full Gospel Church.

If you want a label, you could call me a Deist.

I see the hand of the creator in all things. I appreciate the natural beauty of the Earth and even working in the garden can be a spiritual experience. I have no real need for standard conventions; churches, hymns, group prayer, etc.

I believe in charity and sharing some of one's good fortune with others.

I was at one time Christian. I grew to feel that in the Old Testament, Yahweh was harsh and tyrannical. I was taught to follow Him blindly, but I could not.

Now, I am a Neo-Pagan. No one around here knows it, because the place I live in is really dangerous to non-Christians. It's really depressing to have to hide, but that's what you get when people are willing to stone you in the name of their God. :-\
