I am a 23 y/o single mother of one 3 y/o boy and I am finally back in the dating world. I met this guy and we really hit it off. We don't get to see each other often because he is in the military but we talk everyday and I've really gotten to know him very well. When I told him about my son he said that it was a little awkward for him at first but that feeling quickly changed and now he's okay with the fact that I have a child and never forgets to ask about my sons day when we talk. He is really okay with it and says that it doesn't bother him at all. Now we've run into a new challenge ... one that I hadn't prepared myself for. We aren't sure how to tell his parents that I have a child, especially because I am a young single mom and all of the stigmas that go with the label. I haven't met them yet but will be soon and I don't know when to tell them or how to tell them about my 3 y/o. I would appreciate any advice that I can get.

Single parenting isnt a foreign thing, and me being a mother I'm proud of my daughter and anyone who cant except her, is their problem. So I suggest he just tells them. it's really not their concern, it's the person you are dating's concern. It wont be a problem with him unless you have a lot of baby daddy issues going on that need to be squashed. Other wise as Nike would say "Just do it"

My son's gf (that he had be dating for a few months) told me a few weeks ago that she had a daughter. The way she did it was she brought picture of her daughters birthday party and asked if I wanted to see them.

Let him tell his parents, having a kid is a blessing, it should not be an inconvenience for anyone... You are with this guy, not his parents, why are you so worried about what they think? IF they are good people, they will respect you and your kid. Also they will get a kid which to me is super worth it.
