In the Army you will not lose rank, but you only have until your 10th year of service i believe, to change your MOS. Also, if you recieve a bonus at re enlistment or enlistment, for that MOS, then you can not change that MOS until your contract is up or you will have to pay back the bonus. Other branches of service im unsure.

Changing branches does not immediately mean you will lose rank. In fact, a buddy of mine received a promotion from E-4 (Corporal) to E-5 (Sergeant) when he joined the Army when his contract with the Corps was finished.
I don't think any branch requires a rank reduction for an MOS change.

No you will not loose rank. Alot of times when you go fromthe Marine Corps to Army you gain promotion. You will not be able to retain your rank if you go from any baranch to the Marines, Because you have to to there basic all over again. You might get a enlistment incentive such as rank but no more than E-3 getting out of Marine Corps Basic. Sometimes you have to change MOS. Like when they phase one out. Or you are forced out and not able to further your career. But you get a seperation bonus.

In the Army you do not lose rank for changing MOS. Some MOS's rank comes slowly like for 68W unless you are at the very top because there are some many soliders competing for promotion.

you will no longer lose your paygrade. In thhe military you will revert to spec-4. A corporal is an NCO place because of the fact the soldier has a management place interior the platoon. A spec-4 remains an E-4 yet isn't an NCO.

not if you stay in the same branch. In the army you can't change your MOS once you enter the paygrade of E-7.

not within the same branch, no. if you get out, then after a time decide to go back(even the same branch) you may end up losing a paygrade. it will depend on how long your break in service is.
