I am thinking about getting a Mac, but I have heard that when you use Parallels to run Windows, it goes slow because of layering Windows OS source code over Mac's. Is it true that it goes too slow for playing games?

It definitely does not run at native speed in parallel. You could try bootcamp which is available from apple web site, that would give you native speed.

One more thing, if you are having core duo machine only one processor is available under parallels this is by design, so if you want full power boot into windows xp using boot camp.
