If he does, he sure has a weak handshake.

Notice the responses you got - many of us simply pointed out that there's no evidence that there's a god.

Most of the folks who said that there is a god gave terrible reasons for believing it (the "how else did all of this come into being?" stuff). The rest (so far) just asserted their beliefs with no support.

I think that the picture is pretty clear, don't you? If there really were a god, don't you think that his existence would leave some evidence? Wouldn't intelligent people be here giving you good arguments in favor of his existence? Since that doesn't happen, it's pretty clear that belief in god is typically simply the result of not being bright enough to be able to think clearly about it.

My apologies and respects to the believers who pointed out that belief is a personal thing based in faith - that's a perfectly good answer, of course, and I don't mean to lump you into the category I described.

in ancient time, when a man was dead, he was called a god by the livings because he had done many great things to the people and his country something like to keep his achievements forever to be remembered by generations as a respect to the dead. And also please be awared that in ancient time, understanding of nature and physiological matters & education are non existing, people did not understand why there were thunders , storms & other natural calamities, whenever there was a natural disaster, they would point out that there was a god up there getting angry, and these innocent people would build temple to worship whatever gods they could imagine in their region or even offer sacrifice in order to please the so called gods.
Then, came a talented, well-endorsed man with good intentions and bestowed with incredible oration skill, installed those ancient people with good behavioural rules and regulations to upgraded socially to reduce thier miseries, and when he was dead , he was called god. In actual historical details, most of these so called gods were physically & physiologically just like us. Because there was no authentic historical records or have been deliberatley altered to suit the mass, their works were being revered as it by god could do only. The ony different things to compare is that they have more followers and belivers then us, our influnces only affected in a very small family circle only. and when we die, we are not called god but called ghost.
Wherther god or ghost, it is the same dead body among everyone (including god).

Yes, HIM(God), does exist, moreover HIM, Doesn't only exist he is a living being, an Energy, and so powerful, HIM, is the only one energy, that can firmly said, he can be in his own Essences, without the need for Substances which is the matter's, we are made off, Substances and elements. that God will combine dirt (dust) and water and will create the Body, that we, the living energies poses to gain Knowledge and achieved some experiences as we become part of this material World, in an effort to learn and reach out to a heavenly and everlasting existence.

Perhaps. It depends. Some say God is goodness in the heart, or the true human love of good, like the Devil is evil, the human self destruction in Anti-transcendentalism.
Some take God as a physical being
Some take God as figuratively
There is no proof, however, does it really matter as long as you're being a "good", understanding, and kind person?

Hi there!

Look at a house? “Who made that house?” Everyone knows that someone had to make it. The house certainly did not make itself!—Hebrews 3:4.

Go to a garden and look at a flower. “Who made this?” No man did. And just as the house did not make itself, so this flower did not make itself either. Someone made it. God did.

Now stop and listen to the song of a bird. “Who made the birds and taught them to sing?” God did. God is the one who made the heavens and the earth and all living things! He is the One who gives life.

Yet, someone may say that he believes only what he can see. He may say: ‘If I can’t see it, I don’t believe it.’ So some people say they don’t believe in God because they can’t see him.

It is true that we cannot see God. The Bible says: ‘No man can see God.’ No man, woman, or child on earth can see God. So no one should try to make a picture or an image of God. God even tells us not to make an image of him. So, then, it would not please God for us to have things like that in our house.—Exodus 20:4, 5; 33:20; John 1:18.

But if you cannot see God, how do you know that there really is a God? Think about this. Can you see the wind?— No. Nobody can see the wind. But you can see the things the wind does. You can see the leaves move when the wind blows through the branches of a tree. So you believe that there is wind.

You can see the things God has done too. When you see a living flower or a bird, you see something that God has made. So you can believe that there really is a God.

Here is a great article! :) Enjoy!

Either there is a God, or we've just been really lucky the past few, I don't know... million billion years?

Okay, I made that figure up, but still...

If the Earth had been just a little closer to the sun, it'd be too hot for life. If the Earth had been a little farther, it'd be to cold.

Think about genetic material. Each little atom had to form the right link to create a huge molecule that is six FEET long. If it had been a little off, there wouldn't have been life.

Think about the psychology of the ancient world. They were in awe of nature and worshiped Gods. This lead to a sense of something bigger than them. They told stories about their Gods to explain the world. They actually explain more about the way the world is than the bible does, IMHO.

I won't try to tell you about the countless number of Gods that have "died" so you could live (Attis, Mithras, Dionysis, Osiris, Yeshua), and I won't tell you about any place of salvation or any place of damnation. I can tell you that this is something that you must feel within you. Religion is supposed to be personal, so you should make up your own mind about God.

probably not. there is no evidence. christians usually respond with a "but you can't disprove him either! so ha! he does exist!". However, the burden of proof is on the christian to prove gods existence. I could say that Thor really does exist, would you believe me without evidence?
no.
or santa or his elves. etc.
another argument they like to use is called irreducible complexity. Simply put, it means, the word is so grand and complex(and looks like it must of been designed) that it must of had a creator. there is one big problem with this argument. however complex we are, a divine intelligent creator would have to be even more grand. so, if we assume the argument to be true, then the creator must of had a creator. therefore, there is no god(something that was created itself isnt a god)

There isn't any evidence that shows God exists. Surely, if God existed, he would be talking to all of us, not just an elite few, and just scare all of us into believing in him.

look in a mirrow he says that we are made in his image so there for if we are made in his image he must exist.some people say that we evolved into the form that you see standing in front of that mirrow and yes we do evolve but from a starting point and its this starting point that he made us. now look around you he didnt make the house you live in but only put the tree here that you use to build that house. god does does exist all you have to do is take time to watch, to see, and to listen. but if you really want too know the true answer then look in too yourself for god is in us all

Look at the world, look at nature. Consider how you are made. I believe God does exist and I have a personal relationship with Him.
